Boston Man Charged with Stabbing 3 Others in Dorchester Restaurant

Hung Nguyen, 32, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, was arraigned on Friday in Dorchester District Court and charged with stabbing three other men during a fight on Thursday night.

According to the Boston Police Department, the incident occurred at the Saigon Seafood Restaurant in Dorchester. When they arrived on-scene, Boston Police officers said they encountered a melee involving a large group of individuals; and they were advised that there were multiple knives involves. Once the scene was made under control, Boston Police Officers report that several witnesses identified Hung Nguyen as the person who stabbed the 3 men.

Nguyen was held on $75,000 bail on Violent Crimes Charges including Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with Intent to Murder.

The crime of Assault with Intent to Murder is defined as the unlawful assault on a person with the specific intent to cause the death of the person assaulted. The maximum penalty in Massachusetts for the crime of Assault with Intent to Murder is up to 10 years in state prison.

The crime of Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon is defined as the intentional unlawful touching of the person of another with a dangerous weapon. The maximum penalty in Massachusetts for the crime of Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon is up to 10 years in state prison.

Suffolk County District Attorney Investigates Lynn Siblings in Extortion Scheme

Two siblings, Jorge Morales, 37, and Mary Lozada, 34, both of Lynn, Massachusetts, are under investigation by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office for a fake Extortion scheme by targeting persons and telling them their family members had been kidnapped and were going to be killed.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office reports that at least 30 phone calls were made to the extortion targets, but does not believe that any Kidnapping actually occurred. At least two parents are known to have fallen for the fake extortion threats, a mother in Jamaica Plain and a father in Dorchester.

Jorge Morales is already scheduled to be in Lynn District Court tomorrow for a dangerousness hearing. He was arrested last week on outstanding warrants by the Lynn Police Department for various charges, including Extortion and Larceny. He has also been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder for allegedly threatening to stab his probation officer with a syringe he claimed was filled with HIV-tainted blood.

Mary Lozada, however, has already been charged in the Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court with Extortion by Threat of Injury and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny for allegedly collecting ransom money after Morales made the calls.

Boston Man Accused of Trying to Light Ex-Girlfriend On Fire

Jamaar Johnson, 23, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, was charged with trying to light his girlfriend on fire in her Cambridge apartment when she told him they were breaking up. Obviously, the attempted break-up didn't go so well, and after a brief argument in the morning, Johnson returned with a can of gasoline and poured it on the woman's head as she was smoking a cigarette.

The Cambridge Police Department responded after the woman called 911 and told them Johnson tried to set her on fire. He was found in her bed and immediately placed under arrest. Johnson was charged with two counts of Assault to Murder, Assault & Battery, and Attempt to Commit Arson.

Chelsea Man Arrested for Assaulting and Burning Pregnant Girlfriend in Dorchester

Jose Jobson, of Chelsea, was arraigned in the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court yesterday for allegedly beating and burning his pregnant girlfriend. As a result of the incident and in an effort to save the baby, doctors were forced to induce labor. The baby girl is reportedly doing fine.

The Boston Police Department reports that Jobson beat the pregnant woman this past Sunday night, in the presence of her three other children. When police responded to the scene, Jobson allegedly fled in his car with the three children in the back seat. When he was finally pulled over in Roxbury, Jobson first climbed into the back seat with the children, and then also allegedly began assaulted the police officers.

At his arraignment in the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court, Jobson was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Mayhem, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Assault & Battery, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Failure to Stop for the Police.

Additionally, Jobson's criminal case scheduled for a Dangerousness Hearing on Monday in Dorchester Court, as well as for a hearing on whether his bail should be revoked on the charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute now pending in Somerville District Court.

Quincy Man Charged with Assault for Somerville Stabbing

Joseph Beaton, 25 of Duxbury, was arrested last week in Quincy for allegedly stabbing a man in Somerville, Massachusetts. On March 17, 2009, Somerville Police responded to a call that a man had been stabbed twice in the chest, as well as a wound to his elbow. Beaton was arrested on March 19 in Quincy.

The Somerville Police investigation resulting from this incident led police to Beaton, who is reported to have made incriminating statements implicating himself in the assault or stabbing. The victim's girlfriend later told Somerville Police that Beaton got into a fight at a party with the Somerville resident, and then stabbed him as a result.

After the assault, the victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was treated for his stab wounds. Although the Somerville man's condition was initially listed as 'critical', it was later changed to 'life threatening.'

Beaton is expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday and charged with Assault, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault with Intent to Murder.
