The newborn was found on September 20, 2010, in an alleyway in East Boston when a neighbor heard the baby’s cries and found him lying face down. As a result of the incident, the child suffered hypothermia, skull fractures, bleeding in the brain and seizures. The child has since been taken into custody by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.

Jill_Quigg_101910-thumb-200x280-23634.jpgJill Quigg, who got a role in the film “Gone Baby Gone” was arrested and charged in Quincy District Court with Breaking & Entering in the Daytime, Larceny Over $250, and Malicious Destruction of Property.

According to the Quincy Police Department, witnesses reported seeing Quigg and Georgios Keskinidis, 28 of Lynn, near the apartment building, and carrying a flat-screen TV and a computer printer. When Quincy Police Officers approached the pair, Quigg allegedly told them she saw a black male breaking into the apartment, and that she and Keskinidis chased the man, who then dropped the stolen items. Quigg said she took the items only for safekeeping.

In Massachusetts, the crime of Breaking & Entering in the Daytime is a felony that is punishable by up to 2 years in the House of Corrections of up to 10 years in state prison. In order to be convicted of this crime, the prosecutor would have to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that:

  1. The defendant broke into a building belonging to another person;

Darryl McCauley, of Wilmington, pled Guilty to stealing millions of dollars from his celebrity comedian half-brother, Dane Cook.

McCauley had been indicted in Middlesex Superior Court on 27 counts of Larceny Over $250, three counts of Forgery, Embezzlement, Uttering, and Conspiracy. McCauley allegedly stole millions from Dane Cook when he worked as his business manager from the early 1990’s to December of 2008. The indictment alleged that he wrote company checks to himself and transferred funds to his personal bank account.

As a result of his plea deal, McCauley was sentenced to five to six years in state prison.

Two Boston men were arrested this past week for exposing themselves on the MBTA. Lawrence MaGuire, 59 of Dorchester, and John A. Beyers, 64 of Brighton, were separately charged with the unlawful public indecency acts. Each have been charged with Open and Gross Lewdness and Indecent Exposure.

Tperps.jpgMaGuire is alleged to have exposed himself and then masturbating while on the Red Line from Davis to Park Street in Boston this past Wednesday.

Beyers is alleged to have exposed him to several women on July 22 at the Reservoir Station in Brookline. A witness to the incident apparently took a photo of Beyers with a cell phone and published the man’s photo on Twitter. The Boston Herald, after becoming aware of the Twitter posts, alerted the MBTA, who apparently recognized Beyers from prior incidents. This led to Beyers’ arrest yesterday.

Michael Johnson, 41, formerly of Boston’s South End, was convicted today on 2 counts of Rape in Suffolk Superior Court against 2 women more than 20 years ago. The Suffolk County D.A.’s Office had charged Johnson with raping a 23 year old Boston woman in April 1990; and then another Boston woman in May 1990.

Johnson was convicted for the crime of Home Invasion in 2003. In that case, a sample of his DNA was obtained, which was then used to link him to the 1990 rapes of the two women.

Elizabeth_Spoon_08210.jpgElizabeth Spoon, 40, plea guilty this past May in Peabody District Court to Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon for stabbing a man who was fighting with her boyfriend 22 years ago. In exchange for pleading Guilty, she was sentenced to 3 years’ probation.

The incident happened 22 years ago. Although a warrant for her arrest issued at the time, she was never brought before the court because the warrant was mistakenly issued with her boyfriend’s last name. It took the police 22 years to match with the Social Security number on the warrant with Spoon’s…

Prior to answering to the charges in Peabody District Court, Spoon was employed as a Beverly Middle School Teacher teaching fifth-grade math. Her license to teach having recently been reinstated, she is now hoping to have her old job back.

Somerville Police Shooting.jpgCarol Lynn Kingsley, 33, was fatally shot this morning by a Somerville Police Officer after she allegedly slashed him, and two other officers, with a knife.

Somerville Police Officers responded to Kingsley’s apartment in Somerville at 6:30 a.m. this morning to investigate a report that she attacked her boyfriend and set fire to his clothing. When the police officers attempted to question her, she brandished a knife and attacked the three Somerville Officers. Kingsley managed to slash one officer in his back, shoulder and arm; a second officer was stabbed in the back and arm; and the third officer was cut on his hand. Thereafter, one of the Somerville Police Officers fatally shot Kingsley. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several hours prior to the incident, at 3:00 a.m., Somerville Police Officers had responded to the same apartment to investigate a 911 call from a neighbor who heard shouting coming from Kingsley’s apartment. After that first call, the boyfriend reportedly took Kingsley to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but it is unclear whether she was ever admitted.

Stoughton Police Officer Richard P. Bennett, 28, was a five-year veteran of the town’s Police Department but was forced to tender his resignation after he committed 2 police department violations.

Bennett was accused of visiting Alex’s Strip Club in Stoughton in June to meet “Bridget the Midget,” a 3 foot 9 inch tall porn star. The problem was that, at the time he went to the strip club, Bennett was on duty and left his patrol to visit the club. It appears that other police officers, “no less than five,” were present within the club and reported the violation to the Stoughton Chief of Police.

In another incident, Officer Bennett also violated the Stoughton Police policy for putting a laser scope on his department issued firearm. The Stoughton Police Department prohibits modifications to department issued firearms without prior approval. When inquiries were made to him about the modification, Officer Bennett allegedly lied to police investigators, thereby violating another canon of the Stoughton Police Department.

The Boston Police Department reports that Timothy Carlson, 50, of Roxbury, Massachusetts, was arrested last night for breaking into and robbing the Mission Church in Roxbury.

Officers responded to the area of 1547 Tremont Street at 10:43 p.m. last evening on another call saw Carlson holding a white bag. When they attempted to speak to him, Carlson allegedly ran and jumped over a barricaded construction site. As Boston Police Officers pursued into the construction site, they observed numerous discarded dollar bills.

Ultimately, Carlson was found hiding behind an electrical box, where he began shouting expletives and allegedly resisted arrest. A search of the area revealed numerous dollar bills where Carlson allegedly jumped the wall and a white cloth filled with prayer slips.
