Two Roxbury Brothers Charged with Beating of Lynn Man Over Drugs

Terrance Jay Tyler, 28, and Reginald Tyler, 22, both of Roxbury, were arraigned yesterday in Lynn District Court on several Massachusetts Crimes of Violence Charges for allegedly beating a Lynn man and stealing his drugs.

Reginald Tyler and Terrance Tyler, brothers, were arraigned in Lynn District Court on charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault & Battery, and Malicious Destruction of Property. Both were released on their Personal Recognizance following arraignment.

According to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office and Lynn Police Department, police were called around 5:30 p.m. to the area of Brightwood Terrace for a report of two black males running around with knives. Officers on scene located a Lynn man with injuries to his face who alleged that Reginald Tyler and Terrance Tyler broke into his friends apartment, whom he was visiting, and claimed he had stolen drugs from them.

The confrontation turned physical and allegedly resulted in both Tyler’s kicking and punching the man. Once they left the apartment, Reginald and Terrance Tyler then allegedly slashed the tires of the Lynn man’s car.
